In the spirit of inspiration and fun I thought I would share some of my favorite life+style products I’ve discovered over the month.
With cooler temperatures and torrential rains I’m always on the lookout for ways to transition summer clothes to to fall. The cabi blog does a great job showing some fun ways to do this every season. Here you’ll see a a whole lotta ways to move from spring into fall with few pieces from their Spring ’16 line and mixing them in with the Fall ’16 line.
Because I’m a wimp when it comes to cold I’m always talking about layering with long underwear. The cheapest brand I like is UNIGLO’s Heatech Scoopneck Longsleeve T-shirt. The deep scoop neck doesn’t show up under your nice cami’s and its thin enough to layer comfortably. The most expensive brand I like is wool by icebreaker.
I notice my skin getting thirstier with age. I discovered this lotion over the summer while on family vacation in Hood River and I recently had to order more because my skin loves it. Goe Oil is like a cross between a cream and an oil, a little goes a long way. It absolutely makes makes my skin glow, smells great, and lasts after its applied.
Need a calorie/caffeine free afternoon treat? This Good Earth Sweet and Spicy Tea is available at any grocery store. I find it a little too sweet on its own, but if you add the juice from a whole lemon it completely blends the flavors and really does taste like something you would pay five bucks for at a fancy tea shop.
Almost every Friday I host what I call Inspiration Studio at my house. Most Friday’s its a time for co-working, but sometime we have a special guest on a different topic. Last month was Cricket Wingfield and this month is Jennifer Blankl. I learn from these amazing ladies but I also learn from my amazing guests. Last month a massage friend of mine was here talking wrinkles/botox. She told me about a product called Frownies. It’s these little pieces of tape you essentially glue to your skin at night, Other than looking and feeling funny, they are easy to apply and I do notice a bit of a difference with the “11’s” wrinkles between my eyes. Verdict is still out tho! I will follow up if they are amazing.
One of the favorite stores in my neighborhood, that I love to browse for a little inspiration in (especially before I pick up my kiddo from school), is called Maven. I haven’t had a chance to get in for a while and I was really happy to see they have started a collaboration of sorts with Pistils Nursery and now have a beautiful selection of houseplants. Just in case you need a little plant fix!
Here is my current collection that I have in my studio.
